  • Lets you remotely serve virtual disks (or physical disks) to departmental or application servers from a centralized storage server

• How?

  • Device driver lets application servers “see” a locally attached disk
  • Disk actually resides in a centralized storage “pool” and may be clustered, fault-tolerant, or RAID protected
