2005-09-15-02 SSConfig |
It is public knowledge that someone has a reversed-engineered
program that can do what ssconfig does (regarding changing hpsusan). HP
knows of this program. HP doesn't like that it exists, but can't do anything
about it since it's not pirated. The author/owner is interested in selling
it (not licensing it). This was brought to the board's attention by Terry
Simpkins. The program is useful for restoring the susan number to
keep 3rd-party software (where the vendor no longer is in business) running.

2005-09-15-03 MPE Certification |
P. Edwards reported that the certification process changed during the merger with Compaq and that it was recently reviewed. MPE program has been orphaned. HP's certification web site doesn't recognize MPE certified id's. P. Edwards talked extensively with M. Pavinen about this. (P. Edwards received signed agreements from HP regarding training!) He is waiting on an update from M. Pavinen. D. Garverick asked what is the value? There were nearly 50 people that passed the test. The value would be useful for homesteaders -- so they can find people qualified to manage their systems. |
2005-09-15-04 Treasurer's Report |
P. Edwards stated that statements are being received monthly. He is still waiting on changes to debit billing. |
