Terminology -

Communication Models

Communication model: describes whether the communication is transmitted automatically and asynchronously, or only after an explicit request.

• Event-driven: information is sent automatically and asynchronously. Initiated by the server. Receiver is responsible for capture.

• Demand-driven: information is exchanged after explicit contact between sender and receiver to start transfer. Can be initiated either by the sender or receiver.
